Culture, tradition and emotion: the typical Tuscan cuisine and its wines are our guides in the choice of the dishes to prepare for our guests. Our menu is continually renewed and we will be happy to read it with you on our famous “Blackboard”. In our staff we are not many, also because the kitchen is small and only the cook is more than a hundred kilos, then, as we say: “too many cooks spoil the kitchen”. Our restaurant is a renovated barn immersed in one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Chianti hills. From May to September it is possible to eat “in the rooster’s yard”. The place allows you to eat in a quiet space surrounded by nature. After eating, from here it is possible to have relaxing walks in the surrounding countryside. Our restaurant is located in an enchanting setting, to pamper your eyes as well as your palate. In our kitchen we cook for you traditional Tuscan dishes with raw, local and high quality materials, paying maximum attention to lightness and enhancement of flavors.


From the A1 Firenze – Impruneta motorway take the highway to Siena and take the exit San Casciano in Val di Pesa.
Turn right and continue towards the town, pass the first two roundabouts keeping in the direction of Siena / Mercatale and at the third take the second exit following the signs for Mercatale Val di Pesa.
After 2 km, La Calcinaia locality, Il Gallo Giallo is on your left.
